In the fourteen years I have lived in Ludlow we have had three mayors
Spencer (Republican), Amicone(Republican) and Spano (Democrat), and two county executives, Andrew Spano (Democrat) and Rob Astorino (Republican) and two county legislators, Jose Alavaradro (Democrat) and Virginia Perez (semi-Democrat). During that time nothing has been materially done to alleviate the odor production of the county waste water treatment plant. Many meetings have been held at the plant, hosted by both Alavarado (several) and Perez (one), each well attended by local residents. The upshot: Nada. I have no idea if Piedad Abreu will be able to alter this legacy, but certainly neither party has implemented remediation programs detailed in a study commissioned by the legislature years ago which included three phases of odor control, only one of which has been implemented. I do not have an abiding faith in the the promises made by any candidate for the legislature to solve this problem - which is a county responsibility. No one wants to spend the money to do the job, especially Astorino. And no one in Ludlow is bringing the stink right up front to White Plains. If any of you expect an improvement do not rely on the promises in a pamphlet. Take the stink bombs to the County's doors.
