PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED PHOTO OF THE SILVER GREY DODGE SEDAN (NY license plate #HLP 9845) AND, IF YOU SEE IT IDLING, KEEP A VIGILANT EYE -- OR BEST OF ALL A VIDEO CAMERA -- TRAINED ON IT SO THAT WE CATCH THEM IN THE ACT OF LITTERING OUR NEIGHBORHOOD.
The Back Story:
Yesterday at 12:10 pm I pulled into my driveway and saw some lunch litter alongside a parked car in the exact same spot in front of my house on Beechwood Terrace (east) where I had cleaned up similar discarded lunch litter twice before in recent weeks. As I approached to clean up the mess, I realized that the adjacent grey Dodge sedan was idling and that at least one person, the driver, was semi-reclined and asleep inside, so I backed off. I sent a tip to the police using the phone app and took a picture (attached). I then kept occasional watch from the front room of my house. One time as I was returning to my perch I heard a "clink" sound and then saw the front passenger window, now half opened, return to its fully closed position (as if someone had finished lowering it to toss something out).
I watchfully waited some more until the car finally pulled away at 1:00 pm. When the police car finally showed up five minutes later, I went out, and indeed there was an additional drink bottle amidst the litter. As I did not have a picture/video of the littering as it was taking place, the police were unable to do anything at all about it.
Fortunately, we are not as constrained. PLEASE SEE THE ATTACHED PHOTO OF THE SILVER GREY DODGE SEDAN (NY license plate #HLP 9845) AND, KEEP A VIGILANT EYE -- OR BEST OF ALL A VIDEO CAMERA -- TRAINED ON IT IF IT IS IDLING SO THAT WE CATCH THEM IN THE ACT.
