Dear Friends,
In response to the recent call for Dog Park fundraising ideas, two suggestions will be implemented at the upcoming Ludlow Park Block Party (for general info about the block party see www.ludlowpark.org):
----We will have a big collection jar displayed prominently at a dog park information table we'll be manning. People willing to man the table for half-hour shifts should reply to this email or call me at 646-379-1507.
----Miriam DeLeon will be organizing the auctioning off of a pet goodies basket(s). She will gladly accept donations of appropriate good (toys, treats, paraphernalia) through Friday, Sept. 16, and will put the baskets together. Monetary donations will be used to buy items for the basket. If we get a good response, she might even swing one "small breed" basket and one "large breed" basket. Starting today, please drop off donations for the baskets at her home: 138 Franklin Avenue (corner brick house at Sunnyside Drive with bright red door). Please support this initiative!
And if you have additional ideas for the Dog Park, we want to hear them! Feel free to post ideas on the Dog Park Forum here. Anyone can read forum entries, but only LPRA members can post -- I highly recommend membership in LPRA for all dog park supporters. You get a lot of local bang for your buck, and on this solemn 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, we should remember how vital it was (and still is) to know your neighbors and be part of your local community so that we can enjoy our diversity now and can be better prepared to assist one another if calamity strikes.
Looking forward to seeing you at the Block Party!
