It has been a very quiet winter for our Dog Park proposal following passage of the City Council Resolution in October 2011. That appears to be changing now.
At this evening's Chema Center meeting with Mayor Mike Spano and his Commissioners, we learned that progress is being made toward negotiating permission to use the State land that we want for our dog park. The City's Department of Planning and Development, under the leadership of Commissioner Jeffrey Williams, is at the helm. They have consulted with our friends at the City's Department of Parks and Recreation to understand the scope of our proposal and have identified NY State Department of Transportation, Region 8, as the responsible party with whom to pursue negotiations. Mr. Williams has promised to keep us fully informed as the process unfolds.
