Ludlow Neighborhood Block Watch

More information about woman found beaten at 9 Fra...
BW91
As many of you know, a 50 year-old woman was found tied up and beaten in her apartment at 9 Franklin Avenue (between Hawthorne and Riverdale) at around 3 p.m. a week ago, 10/24. The news reports said that 4 male suspects were being sought. This is a terrifying occurrence--given the time, the crime must have been in progress during school dismissal at PEARLS and when other parents/ kids are walking home from other schools.

Has anyone heard anything more about the incident? Has a description of the suspects been released? Is there any information about whether the victim was targeted for a specific reason? The original story was on News 12, but we aren't subscribers and I haven't heard anything since.

Also, has anyone else noticed any other suspicious activity in and around that building? I live in the next block (toward Sunnyside) and my neighbors and I have noticed a lot of noise from there (loud music, fights, foul language, etc.) and a large number of people coming in and out (not like foot traffic--more like too many residents for that size building). Of course, now I will call the police immediately if I hear noise coming from there rather than waiting to see if it stops, but maybe the rest of you could help too by keeping an eye out whenever you are near that block. Now that we all have our windows closed, we might be less likely to hear the beginning of a disturbance.
